LLLI | What is Gentle Discipline?

I am doing my best to be a postive disciplinarian, here is a good article explaining about this! LLLI What is Gentle Discipline?

It ain't easy even if it is called positive or gentle discipline however I find I like it much more than traditional discipline......now first of all I need to discipline myself since I tend to over react and my temper flares!

Dwejra

We stayed at the Downtown hotel in Vctoria which I recommend as wonderful! We than visited The Citadel and Victoria which I always enjoy whenever I go there! The following day we went to the Ta Pinu Shrine, this beautiful Church has a painting of Our Lady whcih is said to do miracles when people pray to her. In fact there is a whole corridor with paintings, casts etc of people who left their stories there of how Our Lady helped them. We also visited Dwejra and its Azure Window which makes a wonderful walk and swim! We took a boat ride there which cost us peanuts. Last but not least we went to Xlendi...now this is meant to be a fishing village but to me it doesnt ressemble one! However the wonderful walk you can do there and scenery is breath taking!

Become a treehugger

When I went to the Amazon, I was in awe at the huge majestic trees surrounding me. Have you ever wondered how these trees (which I may add are rutlessly destroyed) are important to our eco-system? A friend of mine illustrated this image which can be found on the US Environmental Protection Agency web site which shows clearly this important process.

Forests act as a major carbon store because carbon dioxide (CO2) is taken up from the atmosphere and used to produce the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins that make up the tree. When forests are cleared, and the trees are either burnt or rot, this carbon is released as CO2. This leads to an increase in the atmospheric CO2 concentration. CO2 is the major contributor to the greenhouse effect. It is estimated that deforestation contributes one-third of all CO2 releases caused by people.

So here are some tips to reduce deforestation:

  • If possible by wooden products which are FSC certified that show they have been made from a managed forest.

  • Don't print unnecesary papers

  • Re use papers which are not needed anymore to put your grocery list for example. Other papers not needed anymore can be sent to recycling

  • Plant a tree! In Malta we have the 34U Campaign which for a small charge the government will plant a tree on your behalf at a public place of your choice. Otherwise just buy your own tree and plant it in your garden!

  • Last but not least go to the rainforest site and click daily to save our rainforests. Its free and it only takes a second to do!

So go on become a tree hugger, spread the love....your help will be a legacy which will survive long after you have gone!

I am in overdrive

Life as we all know ain't always easy. Today was one of those off days and I still don't know really why!

However, my heart is now less heavy and starting to get back to normal. Living in awareness and submission is not easy, when these off days happen you feel quite guilty I have now found out!

My mind has also been working on overdrive....I'd love to do so many changes .... my life as a parent shows me how many things I still need to learn and that I must make my utmost to learn them to be able and teach my son well..... my inclinations have changed to previous years and the only thing that I still hope for is to becomea yoga instructor. Other than that I have put my eyes on a child care professional course.....my website mamascircle, I'd like to revolutionise into a natural parenting resource centre but all this needs LOADS of time and frankly my son gets the bulk of it! and for me to do it at nighttime while he is asleep is defenitely not an option since my baby would than get a grumpy mummy the following day.......so I pray for enlightenment, but, I still wonder what you think......any help?

Live Green

I already missed two posts of the live green series and since I seem not to have the time right now I decided to do it as a twice monthly post for now. So the next post will be Monday next week.

My life reached a turning point as you could see from my last post and I am giving more importance to my family right now and their needs so my time online is very limited. However, you will still see me around and find time to also visit your blogs.

I wish you all a great week.

Surrender

How do I find the words that describe what's in my heart?
That can explain the changes happening within?
Right now I can't....everytime I try I feel blocked and when I ain't near a computer I am filled with inspiration.
How odd and maybe how fitting.......
My life journey has taken a turning since my post about religion.
I have seen that indeed I am a Christian and yet I am Pagan, Jew, Hindu & also Islam.......
Because all religions are same and one but looked at from a different prespective. So I continue being a Christian and in discovering God once more my life is filled with happiness.
I am practicing surrender and seeing his wonders in every single thing I do and suddenly everything seems easier.
I have been reading books, watching films and discovering many other things that show me the way....
My life is blessed, our life is blessed and sadly we tend to forget it.
Thank you Lord for giving me another day in this world. Thank you for giving me the tools to find my way. Thank you for a son who shows me the simple things in life are more precious. Thank you for every single moment. Bless me with wisdom, love, compassion.....so I can teach my son the same. Bless me with your light so I can do what is right by You.
