wordless wednesday


Originally found all over the country, it used to show how far the next village was. When the British took over the island they changed them as per the pic above. Unfortunately, a lot have also been dismantled over the time and very few are left of this precious heritage.

What a shame. You can't exactly undo the damage. And I like the idea of using them to tell how close you are to the next village.

That's such a pity ! I think it was and still is a very good idea to show where the next village is ! It's far prettier as our stupid modern signs, they should put both together then.

Beautiful... It's sad how so many historical places and items were changed or destroyed... However, it makes the few that are left even more special... Oh and yes I loved Peru... We only saw maybe 1/10 of Peru and we were there for two weeks...
